Abdullah Shafiq’s status as opener wasn't under threat, while Shan Masood set to bat at the third spot, according to sources

Star batsman Babar Azam of Pakistan will bat at number four against Bangladesh in the first Test match played at home, sources revealed Geo News on Thursday.
The sources claim that captain Shan Masood will bat at number three and that Abdullah Shafiq's opening position is safe.

The reports also mentioned that Muhammad Huraira, a batter, is a solid contender to make his debut.
Pakistan and Bangladesh will play two ICC World Test Championship matches in Rawalpindi and Karachi, from August 21 to August 25 and August 30 to September 3, respectively.
According to the sources, Pakistan will deploy three fast bowlers and one spinner in the opening Test match against Bangladesh because the pitch is favorable for bowlers.
They declared, "Mir Hamza will be the third fast bowler, along with Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah."

The men's cricket team from Bangladesh traveled to Lahore from Dhaka on August 13 in order to play Pakistan in a two-match Test series.

From the Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, the crew was transported to a private hotel under stringent security protocols.
