There have now been four further cases of polio recorded in Pakistan, bringing the total number of cases this year to 32.
Recent instances of polio have been reported from Dera Ismail Khan, the Malir region of Karachi, and Jacobabad.
In Tahsil of Jacobabad, there have been two instances of the polio virus reported: one in an 18-month-old boy and one in a 32-month-old female.
Apart from this, a case involving a 72-month-old infant who has polio has surfaced in Tehsil Bin Qasim, in the Malir district of Karachi.

In one case, a 22-month-old kid from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Dera Ismail Khan district tested positive for the polio virus.
Authorities in Pakistan and foreign specialists are concerned that in October, polio may strike a large number of additional children.
By year's end, experts predict that between 55 and 65 youngsters in Pakistan would have contracted polio.
The nation's recently sharply rising polio virus incidences are also underscoring the challenges in completely eliminating the virus even with ongoing vaccination.
