PAK VS ENG Day 3: Crawley and Pope's Wickets deal an early blow to England, but Root and Duckett rally.

MULTAN: England experienced an early setback on Day 3 of the first Test match between Pakistan and England at Multan Cricket Stadium when Zak Crawley was removed from the field shortly after play began.

The visitors opened the day at 96-1 in an attempt to forge a solid alliance as they pursued Pakistan's daunting 556 total.

England now has a difficult assignment after Zak Crawley was caught off guard by great pacer Shaheen Afridi with a legside hit. Ollie Pope, the English captain, went for a duck. With 394 runs down, Joe Root (49*) and Ben Duckett (34*) are at the crease with the score at 162-2.
In this Test match, England's skipper Ollie Pope is heading the team after Ben Stokes was ruled out with a hamstring injury. On Day 2, Naseem Shah took the ball early and dismissed Pope in his opening over.

After reaching 328/4 at the start of Day 3, the nation's innings was strengthened by the contributions of Saud Shakeel (82 runs) and Salman Ali Agha (100 not out).

The England VS Pakistan Test is a part of the ICC World Test Championship, and as the series progresses, the Pope-led team hopes to bounce back and perform well.
